Artists-in-Residence for 2021-2022

It was PRS founder Manly P. Hall’s view that any collection representing a heritage of wisdom and beauty must include not only exemplary books but also symbolic art. PRS continues to uphold this view by fostering the creation and interpretation of contemporary art as a vital source of wisdom addressing subjects both ancient and present. The on-site Hansell Gallery is home to several art exhibits, openings, and multimedia art events each year, with the PRS auditorium, library, and atrium spaces often transforming into additional art space for video projection, performance pieces, and kinetic poetry readings.

THE PHILOSOPHICAL RESEARCH SOCIETY IS A LOS ANGELES-BASED, NONPROFIT CULTURAL INSTITUTION FOUNDED IN 1934 AS A REPOSITORY OF MULTICULTURAL WISDOM SOURCES AND A CENTER OF LEARNING WITH A UNIQUE LIBRARY CONTAINING OVER 30,000 RARE VOLUMES. ITS HISTORIC LANDMARK BUILDINGS ARE OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND PRESENT SEMINARS, CLASSES AND CONCERTS ON MYTHOLOGY, THE HUMANITIES AND METAPHYSICS.
