Contributing Artists

Liberate Elemental Forces is an Indian classical/experimental music collective from the east side of Los Angeles. Instrumentation is varied but centered on sitar, tabla and synthesizer while incorporating lap steel, swarmandal, flute, tanpura, electric guitar and vocals to create their Indo-cosmic sound.

The music is based on the fundamental architecture of classical Indian ragas and rhythm cycles but also fuses the meditative aspects of spiritual jazz and kosmichemusik. The core of the group has trained in both LA and Kolkata with their guru Pandit Shashanka Bakshi (a world renowned tabla master who played with greats like Ravi Shankar and Nikhil Banerjee). The band has performed extensively at some of LA's greatest venues and happenings, as well as in the private homes of many beloved artists and patrons.
