In this translation, which was reproduced and translated by John Yarker (from the French version by Charles and Auguste Beaumont), reads as a prologue to a Masonic comedy in three acts entitled "The Freemason", printed in 1867.
Intended to be read as a stage play, or libretto, The Initiation of Plato is in itself a splendid summary of early mystery ritual compiled from various Greek and Egyptian sources.
