The Question of the Wise

If you are wise tell me, 
where does one truly find God? 
How does one inherit all heavenly manner? 
Is it solely through books, prayer, 
and the utterance of words? 
If you are wise tell me, 
do you truly believe such sanctified achievements
can be retrieved from the creations of other men,
or can be attained by the repetition 
of certain phrases alone? 
Are you wise or are you foolish? 
Is it not the work of God to make such things hidden? 
Have you not found in your own life 
that the most elusively veiled of phenomenon
are those that lead to the most profound of discoveries? 
Would you then, had you created the earth,
paved an obvious road to the most sacred of places?
