Alchemy of Herbs: Transform Everyday Ingredients Into Foods & Remedies That Heal
Author Rosalee de la Foret prepares the way for healers and budding students of the garden with this publication of useful information and recipes. There are a lot of home remedies, cooking recipes, scientific studies, and actual medicinal uses for herbs.
The book is divided into two parts: first an introduction to herbs and spices followed by the categorization of all herbs as sweet, salty, sour, pungent, and bitter. To be honest, this is one of the better books on herbs to have come out in a while, if for any reason the author had good sources, and relevant info on each herb, and the language conveyed in the book was easy to read and digest.
For the skeptics, there are over two hundred cited scientific studies in the references. Most of the studies are human clinical trials and a couple are in-vitro studies. There aren't any animal studies referenced.
Rosalee de la Foret is a Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalist Guild and the Education Director at "LearningHerbs". Forward written by Rosemary Gladstar!
