About the Class:
This course is an extensive exploration into the many poetic truths that exist within the profound genre of documentary filmmaking. The course will introduce various metaphysical ideas that can assist in the development and execution of a documentary, and it will also cover numerous necessary cinematic elements that the aspiring documentarian will benefit from. The course will dive deep into themes such as understanding the sacred relationship between the documentarian and their subject, the poetry in Principal Photography, the various sub-genres of the documentary universe, basic wisdom for successful post production, and so much more. The course will end by encouraging each student to make their own short film!
All are welcome and no one should be intimidated. “Documentary Filmmaking for the Modern Truth Seeker” aims to inspire, uplift, and assist those interested in making documentaries as well as those who are interested in the genre as an object of study.
